Horse chestnut extract is a natural botanical extract derived from the dried mature seeds of Aesculus  hippocastanum, through processes such as ethanol extraction and resin purification. So it is also called Horse chestnut seed extract. Its core active substances is aescin, along with a variety of secondary active components including flavonoids, coumarins, and sterols. How to Make Horse Chestnut Extract Aescin(Escin) Powder?

The extraction process for our horse chestnut seed extract is as follows: starting with crushed horse chestnut seeds as raw material, we perform triple cycle extractions using 60% ethanol. The extract is then filtered to remove impurities, after which the combined filtrate is concentrated in a vacuum evaporator for 48 hours. Next, the target components are enriched via extraction; if precipitation occurs, the precipitate is collected directly, while if no precipitate forms, further concentration is carried out to induce precipitation. Finally, the precipitate is concentrated again in a vacuum evaporator for 24 hours to obtain the final product.

How to Make Horse Chestnut Extract?

Horse Chestnut Extract  Aescin(Escin) Benefits

Horse chestnut extract for varicose veins

Aescin, the core active component of horse chestnut seed extract, exerts a significant improvement effect on both varicose veins and spider veins.

On one hand, it enhances the tension of venous vessel walls, reduces vascular fragility, and promotes venous blood reflux, effectively alleviating venous blood stasis, thus mitigating the red fine streaks of spider veins and the distension and protrusion of varicose vessels.

On the other hand, it can inhibit hyaluronidase activity, reduce capillary wall permeability and prevent plasma protein extravasation, thereby relieving the lower limb swelling, heaviness and pain caused by varicose veins and spider veins; meanwhile, it improves local lymphatic circulation, accelerates the discharge of metabolic waste, and further alleviates the discomfort brought by such venous problems.

Horse Chestnut Extract Benefits

Horse chestnut extract for varicocele

Aescin enhances the tension of the spermatic vein vessel walls, alleviates local blood stasis as well as the tortuosity and dilation of blood vessels, relieves discomforts such as scrotal distension and dull pain, improves the microcirculation and tissue hypoxia in the spermatic cord area, relieves functional abnormalities caused by inflammatory stimulation or vascular compression, and helps restore normal physiological functions.

Horse Chestnut Extract Benefits

Horse chestnut extract for skin and hair

Aescin, combined with auxiliary components such as flavonoids and coumarins, exerts nourishing effects on both skin and hair.

Its benefits to the skin are reflected in anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, brightening, firming and barrier repair properties: it reduces oxidative damage and sensitive redness of the skin by scavenging free radicals and inhibiting the synthesis of inflammatory mediators, and meanwhile improves microcirculation in the superficial skin layer, promotes collagen fiber synthesis, enhances skin elasticity and moisture-locking capacity, and alleviates dryness and roughness.

Its hair care effects focus on scalp health and hair strand toughness: the microcirculation-improving effect helps deliver sufficient nutrients to hair follicles, activates hair follicle vitality to reduce hair loss and promote hair growth; the anti-inflammatory effect can inhibit inflammatory responses of the scalp, relieving increased dandruff and scalp itching caused by seborrheic dermatitis; additionally, the antioxidant components protect hair cuticles from external damage, reduce dryness and split ends, and make hair appear stronger and smoother.
